Dotcon/Condes Major Changes

Dotcon/Condes Major Changes

by rocksteady421 6. November 2008 07:39

Sorry for the lack of immediate response on this blog, but I've simply been too stressed and too busy to keep up with all my online outlets. The photo shoot is just a few days away and with the fashion show next week, things are cramming together rather unbearably at the moment. Hopefully the current complications we're facing will be smoothed out before anything major happens.

Anyways, on to news. Dotcon is no longer taking place in the heart of the city on King West. To my chagrin, the organizers couldn't maintain that location because there is still construction involved in the area which they were told would be complete before the convention date arrived. So, in a last minute attempt to save the convention, Dotcon has been moved to the Holiday Inn Markham in, well obviously, Markham. Just north of Toronto and off the 404, its major intersection is now Woodbine and Steeles. Yes, it's not as exciting, but I've made peace with the fact that because of the sudden move my Condes fashion show can still exist. Please, go register and join us at our new location on Sunday November 16th, 2008.

This is the official statement Dotcon has released:

"Dotcon is no longer located at the Holiday Inn on King (370 King St. West, Toronto, Ontario M5V 1J9) due to extensive renovations occurring at the hotel.

We are happy to announce that Dotcon is now being held at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Toronto-Markham located at 7095 Woodbine Avenue Markham, ON L3R 1A3. The major intersection is Woodbine and Steeles, which has easy access to highways and transit. The convention rate is now $119 CDN per night and parking is FREE.

The date of the event will still be from Saturday, November 15th, 2008 - Sunday, November 16th, 2008. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to e-mail us at [ why@dot-con.com ] or please visit us on the Dotcon Forum.

Thank you for your interest in Dotcon. We hope to see you there."

I believe the $119 CDN pricing refers to a package deal for those who wish to attend the convention and then stay in the hotel itself.

Thanks for your time everyone,

Dylan.

P.S. The song for Condes has completely changed, you can view the video and hear the tune here.
