The Sparkling Beginning

Welcome to Dylandias.com, the official, amazing, colourful home of me, Dylan, an aspiring hair artist within the city of Toronto! The site officially opened today after a lot of hard work from an incredible person and good friend, Jacob Barrick, who designed, created, and completely executed the site himself. Of course, I must give credit where credit is due, so even if he minds, I had to mention how grateful and thankful I am, and how awesome this site turned out to be thanks to him. Much <3 to The Jacob.

Onwards! Dylandias.com will not only be your main, obsessive source for everything hair related, but it will keep you up-to-date with my thoughts on the latest trends, the best, and easiest ways to keep your hair amazing (besides seeing me of course), and whatever my latest, fantastical endeavour may be!

For now, I'm truly excited about CONDES, my brand new Fall/Winter 2008 line that is due to premiere within the next month. As opposed to The District, which can be viewed in the site's main gallery, Condes is a huge leap forward in terms of shape, form, structure, and ethnic texture; whereas The District emphasized trendy colours and lines. In Condes there are no rules, simply artistic shape, and yet there is a certain gamine prescence about avant-garde dramaticism; Construction and destruction, hence the name.

Condes will be the one of the greatest collections of the Fall/Winter season and will be premiering as a LIVE fashion show at the Japanese Cultural Convention, Dotcon, in downtown Toronto.

I hope to see all you hair, fashion, and japanese enthusiasts there!

What a wonderful blog. I spend hours on the web reading through blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to to begin with give kudos to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an post. I honestly think there is a skill to writing articles that only several posses and frankly you have it. The combination of informative and quality content is definitely extremely rare with the big quantity of blogs on the internet.

Good luck getting people behind this one. Though you make some VERY fascinating points, youre going to have to do more than bring up a few things that may be different than what weve already heard. What are trying to say here? What do you want us to think? It seems like you cant really get behind a unique thought. Anyway, thats just my opinion.

Not many people would say this. Youve got some guts. I will say this, though. If you dont want to alienate any readers, youre gonna have to stop generalising so much. Maybe you should try seeing both sides of this issue instead of assuming that yours is the only valid opinion. Id still read it, I like the way you write. But I can see some people getting upset.

I have had tinnitus since about 10 years old. Till recently though I didn't know that itwas such a big problem with thousands of people until I heard somewhere that Taylor Swift suffered from tinnitus. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.
